BUYER BEWARE!

If you are looking for a safe, quality home for your family, this is definitely NOT the builder for you. They will not listen and will say anything they need to in order to make the sale and they do not fix what was done improperly. The homes come with a 1 year warranty that they refuse to honor. These homes are a health hazard to your family.

My elderly parents and I purchased a home in good faith for my family to live in. I became legally disabled due to a medical condition over four years ago and needed a safe place. Because of my disabling medical condition we had to be very careful about the home we purchased. We spent a lot of time and asked a lot of questions of the builder to make sure the home would be safe and my needs met. My condition was explained to them as was the importance that the house be safe. They assured us they could handle the requirements and their homes would fit what I needed to be safe. They just told us what we needed to hear in order to sell the house.

After moving in everyone started getting sick so sick I had an air quality test done on the house. The VOC levels were in the severe range and both formaldehyde and mold were elevated above normal. How does a brand new home have a mold problem? We worked to make sure the VOC content of products used in the house were low or no VOC. I notified the builder and they refuse to even acknowledge the air quality danger levels.

I have been here over 5 months and cannot get them to come back and fix the numerous problems within the house. I have given them the lists several times and they still will not acknowledge or mitigate any of the issues with the house. It is under warranty and they still refuse to fix things.

• Strong odor/fumes in basement that spreads throughout house

• The finished basement is unusable due to symptoms caused by fumes

• Pipes - PEX: dirty PEX pipes offgass for a year or more making water and home smell of gasoline.

• Sounds/smells from adjoining units permeate the house. I was promised this would never be a problem and it was part of the reason we chose this house over another.

• No heat in any of the bathrooms so frigid in the winter and excessively hot and humid in the summer.

• Floors: Floor boards sag and creak and sometimes make ear splitting cracks even when not being walked on. The floors move and there are too many nail pops to count. In a 1 foot by 3 foot area there are no less than 9 nail pops. They are pushing through the flooring. The flooring is equally as bad with every stair having bubbles and with numerous bubbles throughout the entire house. Debris was never swept up before the floors were put down so there is debris under the flooring and tears the builder just left and never fixed.

The master bedroom has a huge hill in the middle of the floor due to warped boards. It is so bad furniture will not sit flat on the floor.

• Appliances do not work and the builder refuses to replace them. They have left me holding the bag to deal with GE. They refuse to prove the appliances were actually purchased new and not refurbished.

• Issue: Paint I paid extra for VOC free paint and primer only for the house to test positive for VOC's in the paint. The builder refuses to show proof of purchase for VOC free primer.

The paint job is horrible. Many spots were missed. The walls were not sanded prior to painting in numerous places. There are globs of debris in the paint and you can see the primer in many areas.

• Issue: Three out of the four windows in the house were not installed properly and cannot close completely or lock.

• Issue: I have had to spend a fortune on air purifiers and water purifiers in order to try to mitigate some of the builder's negligence.

The builder has no ethics, morals, or integrity. Their sales people will try to sell them to you telling you how good they are and how much they care about their homeowners. Do not buy into it. It is just a way to make the sale. Once they make the sale they are gone and none of
