Terrible experience. Reached out to this contractor to get an estimate on a small field stone wall (25’x 2’). Charged me $40 for an estimate, which I thought was excessive, but I went along with it. He gave me a reasonable estimate and I hired him. He told me that the job would take about 3 days, which I also thought was a bit long based on my experience with stone masons but, again, I went along with it. To make a long story short, after he started the wall, he revised the estimate upwards twice, and two months went by before the job was finished. About half way thru the job, I noticed that the wall was not level. He fixed it, but didn’t offer any explanation for why his line wasn’t level. After two months worth of aggravation, I ended up paying about 70% over the original estimate, and was left with a sloppy looking wall. A complete amateur job.
