Unprofessional

This was the worst. I just moved up here. I was told by everyone, you get a free P.O. box when you live here. I work in the Valley till 3pm. M-F. I was told Saturdays were only for picking up packages. I told some worker (xxxx) who told me I could open it online and when I get a chance, I can come in and verify who I am and proof of my residence.

I opened it up online with the help of a USPS assistance, because my street was not showing up in their system. I had to only put the zip code and that worked. It made me pay $20. I was fortunate that I was able to switched with one of my officers so I could go to the Post Office the next day.

The lady there told me I had to wait a couple weeks for the key. She was very nice. I forgot her name but it wasn't xxxx. The next day I was thinking, are they going to charge me for two weeks of having a box when I don't even have keys? Obviously no one would be there when I got off work to get my mail for me.

I explained to Jody what happened. I asked if I would get reimbursed or prorated for the time I could not use the box I paid for. She said, I didn't tell you you had to open it up online, I said it was an option. I told her, I understand but, (then she interrupted me) I was going to say, it wasn't about that, It was about paying for something that I didn't get.

I start telling her about how the USPS lady couldn't find my street ( She interrupts me again to say, "it's because it's a dirt road".) lol really? everyone I know out here lives on a dirt road. That made no sense. What I was going to say was , the USPS lady said I just needed to put my zip code and then it takes me to the P.O box options.

I was interrupted through the whole conversation. She was extremely rude. She would not let me talk. She kept saying, it's only a week you have to wait and you got a discount. I said what kind of discount is something you can't use?

she just say's look you are not getting a discount.

She kept contradicting herself. I just wanted a friendly understanding employer to talk too. Lets say you see an apartment that says 1st month free. You set up a direct deposit for the rent. You fill out the application online and go to move in and they tell you they will give you the key in a couple of weeks and then you see they debited your account for the 1st month,

Wouldn't you call to get your money back? Well that's pretty much what happened, and it was like the landlord saying well I can let you in any time you want for two weeks, but not after 4pm.

Ridiculous right? My friends that have lived out here for years told me they never had to pay. My landlord said it was free. I was told there were some stories of someone at the Post office that is not very nice. Well I found her. Too bad. I hope this reaches a supervisor and people like this will have to be retrained in Customer service, proper etiquette, and manners.
